Chapter 17: On the Set of "From Here to Eternity"
"That was the night after we all got fitted for our hawaiian-print shirts. We were all beat, so we told Deb Kerr and that wind-bag Heston to scram with all their noise. Then, Frankie and I made a b-line for Borgnine's room.
We decided to fill Monty's loafers with SPAM. Crazy hop-head--I don't think he even noticed! Ernie and Frank were always up for that kinda horsing around--I miss those guys!
When we strolled into the set the next day, Frank's shirt was ripped to the collar, and Monty had a chipped tooth. The director was furious! He started pointing the finger in my direction, and I said, "Whhoooa Captain."
Frankie and me, we knew better than to hang around,

Actually, it was Burt Lancaster who played 1st Sargent Milton Warden in "F.H.T.Eternity." And consequently, I disagree with your description of him as a "wind-bag."
