Chapter 17: On the Set of "From Here to Eternity"
"That was the night after we all got fitted for our hawaiian-print shirts. We were all beat, so we told Deb Kerr and that wind-bag Heston to scram with all their noise. Then, Frankie and I made a b-line for Borgnine's room.
We decided to fill Monty's loafers with SPAM. Crazy hop-head--I don't think he even noticed! Ernie and Frank were always up for that kinda horsing around--I miss those guys!
When we strolled into the set the next day, Frank's shirt was ripped to the collar, and Monty had a chipped tooth. The director was furious! He started pointing the finger in my direction, and I said, "Whhoooa Captain."
Frankie and me, we knew better than to hang around,
"That was the night after we all got fitted for our hawaiian-print shirts. We were all beat, so we told Deb Kerr and that wind-bag Heston to scram with all their noise. Then, Frankie and I made a b-line for Borgnine's room.so we made like mint jelly,
and took it on the lamb."
Dear Baby Sinatra,
ReplyDeleteActually, it was Burt Lancaster who played 1st Sargent Milton Warden in "F.H.T.Eternity." And consequently, I disagree with your description of him as a "wind-bag."
